Welcoming Mothers and Babies to New Maternity Ward
Haiti
Anita Descamps, a shopkeeper living in Port-au-Prince, braved insecurity due to gang violence to regularly travel 46 miles to Boucan Carré health center’s beautiful new maternity ward, where she received quality pre- and post-natal care for her newborn.
Staff with Zanmi Lasante, PIH’s sister organization in Haiti, now welcome pregnant women like Anita to a new waiting room, triage area, three consultation booths, a delivery room, and 16 additional patient beds.
