Expanding a Hub for Innovation

Construction is underway on the next phase of growth for PIH-supported Butaro District Hospital in Rwanda, where PIH is known as Inshuti Mu Buzima (IMB). The ambitious project, to be completed in August 2023, will further establish the hospital as a leading medical institution and pave the way for its accreditation as a teaching hospital.

Butaro District Hospital is already a fertile training ground for students from PIH’s nearby University of Global Health Equity. The two institutions will continue to grow together as a hub for care, education, research, and innovative approaches to global health.
