Vikram Patel: "Remembering Paul"

Vikram Patel, the Pershing Square Professor of Global Health in the Blavatnik Institute's Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, wrote a tribute to Paul Farmer. The following is an excerpt from the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics.

"There are many scholars of global health or social justice who may have spent a few months, a few years even, with the less privileged in less resourced environments. But there are very few who have spent most of their lives in those environments, not only conducting research but serving as a doctor, an educator and a builder of institutions whose legacies will outlive us all."
