In most parts of the world, the pipeline of future doctors, nurses, and global health leaders is far too limited. Without them, we can’t deliver care to those who need it most.
This is a global problem, but it is felt most acutely in sub-Saharan Africa. Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for 24 percent of the global burden of disease, but only has between three to four percent of the world’s health workforce.

The ambitious, multi-year construction project is set to expand the hospital, located in Burera, from 150 to 240 beds and further establish it as a leading medical institution and teaching hospital in the region.
