Community Mobilization & Communication

This unit contains approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes (2 days) of training activities. 

Community Health Workers are trained to:

  • Use effective and respectful communication and listening techniques when communicating with the families that they work with, including active listening and open-ended questions.
  • Use behavior change communication to help families improve their health and well-being.
  • Perform home visits, meet with mothers and adolescents groups, and conduct community mobilization activities.

Participant Handbook: contains all of the content that participants are trained on (text and illustrations) and also any case studies, scenarios, small group discussion questions, or role plays needed for training sessions. Participants use the handbook during training sessions and afterwards for review.
