Statement from PIH CEO Dr. Sheila Davis on Expulsion and Inhumane Treatment of Migrants

BOSTON – Partners In Health is outraged by the United States Department of Homeland Security’s inhumane treatment of Haitian migrants and asylum seekers. We join our advocacy partners in urging the Biden Administration to halt Haiti-bound flights immediately and to honor promises of dignity for people of all origins. During a challenging and dangerous period for Haiti, it is unthinkably cruel to send men, women, and children back to what many of them do not even call “home” anymore. In times of desperate need, solidarity and compassion is the only acceptable response.
